The Nanny wears Prada
The Nanny Fashion Diary: Fran Fine's Top 10 Looks that had Us Shook
Hey, Jessie watch out for this nanny because she's got style! Have you ever seen a Nanny rocking cheetah print faux fur collars? I know I haven't Fran Fine has got all the nannies beat when it comes to style. 'The Nanny' was one of my favorite sitcoms growing up. I used to look forward to seeing what outfit Fran was going to wear. I admired her fashion sense and aspired to be as fashionable as her one day, well the nanny part. This Fashionable nanny first graced our televisions back in 1993. Fran was a cosmetics saleswoman for those of you who don't know her but surprisingly got a job as Mr. Sheffield's kids babysitter. Now that's a surprising turn of events. Fran's honesty, great sense of humor, and killer fashion sense were unmatched. Who wouldn't love to have a nanny like Fran.
Now that we have the intro finished, it's time to recap some of Fran's iconic looks.
Look 1: Fran knows how to accessorize. This look is giving Snow Queen in the Spring
Fur coats go with anything, and Fran made these pair of shorts, turtle neck crop top, shade, and faux fur coat into a look that I haven't seen most people pull off, but she owned it! By the way, this outfit is so popular that they made this iconic look into a meme.
Look 2: All Leather Outfit
Uh oh, it looks like the T-Birds have some competition because this Nanny looks fierce in leather. Who doesn't love leather? This look is one of my faves that Fran wore on the show. It's giving baddie vibes. This leather outfit is great for a shopping spree on 59th street or perfect for a night out! For those of you wondering where this jacket is from, according to @WhatFranWore the Jacket Fran is wearing is a Michael Hoban North Beach Lether Moto Jacket. This studded leather jacket is a must-have.
Look 3: The Red Velvet Blazer
Where can I get this velvet Blazer from because it is so chic? It looks like Fran is ready to take over the office. This blazer paired with a short black dress with red studs underneath and the tights is another one of Fran's iconic looks.
Look 4: Mad about Plaid
Look 5: Hello Cruella's calling and she wants her Dalmatian Print Skirt Back
This iconic dalmatian print look will have Cruella raiding Fran's closet. Who knew that adding a dalmatian print lining to a simple leather jacket could make this outfit look so edgy. The black turtleneck and the dalmatian print skirt to match the lining of the jacket complete the look.
Look 6: I need a Soldier in here
Destiny's Child needs to make a Soldier Remix music video with Fran Fine as the forth member because this nanny's prepared for battle with this Camouflage shorts set from Moschino. The beret gives the outfit a finishing touch.
Look 7: Fruit Galore
Fran wasn't afraid to wear whimsical outfits like this one with fruit on it. This polka dot fruit blazer and black skirt by Moschino was a playfully but chic look and by far one of the fan-favorite outfits.
Look 8: Scout's Honor
This nanny is the Red Robin Troops Chief in charge. Who knew a girl scout's uniform could look this fashionable, it's a uniform like no other. Fran added her own flare to this uniform. Its the matching beret, scarf, gloves, red seams, and the buttons on the jacket for me!
Look 9: Ruffles are a girl's best friend
Look 10: Hey Mama welcome to the 60s!
This outfit is giving me the 1960s meets the 1990s vibes due to the Jean Paul Gaultier Cyber Dots Top paired with an Azzedine Alaïa denim skirt.
Fran Fine is not only a nanny but a fashionista at heart. Whether she's dripped in a plaid-two-piece suit with fruit on it or an all-leather outfit with animal print lining, Fran is not afraid to think outside the box and express herself through style. She isn't scared to wear bold colors, prints, and patterns, and that's what makes her a fashion icon. Growing up I dreamed of being as confident and fashionable as her.
